About

Weinan Pan founded her studio in 2014.

Inspired by natural structures, ancient artefacts, and intuitive making processes, she creates jewellery that sits close to the body — organic, tactile, and quietly powerful.

Her work does not seek perfection, but retains traces of process, wear, and time. Marks, variations, and patina are not treated as flaws, but as part of a natural order, allowing each piece to evolve over time.

Her practice is rooted in a hybrid methodology that integrates traditional craftsmanship with experimental processes. The work is shaped through a direct engagement with material, where each piece evolves through an intuitive yet controlled process. Structure, surface, and form are continuously negotiated rather than predefined.

Rather than following a fixed technique, the making remains open — allowing the work to develop through material response, resulting in forms that carry a sense of immediacy and presence.

Her work has developed largely outside of conventional competition frameworks, instead being recognised through selective invitations and curated opportunities. This trajectory began following her graduation from Central Saint Martins, MA Design (Jewellery Path), in 2019 — awarded Distinction.

Recognition spans art, design, and craft contexts, including being shortlisted for the Tiffany & Co. x Outset Studiomakers Prize; a curated presentation at the Tom Dixon showroom in New York; and selection as one of ten Emerging Talents by ArtThread, leading to presentation at Handmade Chelsea as part of the Handmade Britain programme.

Working primarily in recycled Sterling silver (925), higher-purity Argentium silver (940 or 960), and recycled 9K, 18K, and 22K yellow gold, her pieces embrace subtle shifts in surface and tone as part of their ongoing life — shaped through contact, wear, and environment, forming a quiet dialogue between material and body. Argentium silver is used in selected pieces for its hypoallergenic properties, with hallmarking carried out in accordance with recognised UK silver standards.
